Hamilton Concert Band Receives $10,600 Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant to Add More Rhythm to the City

Hamilton, ON – On December 6 at St. Andrew’s United Church, the Hamilton Concert Band celebrated receiving a $10,600 Capital Grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). This funding helped purchase new equipment for the band’s percussion section, allowing the ensemble to expand its sound and welcome new players. The grant ensures the community can continue enjoying live music and preserves the tradition of music in Hamilton for generations to come.

"We are honoured and deeply appreciative of this support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation," said Jill Murray, Treasurer of the Hamilton Concert Band. "This grant allows us to grow and improve, bringing new sounds to our performances and enriching the musical experience for our audiences,” said Marshall Bax, Marketing Director.

The Hamilton Concert Band has grown significantly in recent years and now includes 70+ members. Founded in the 1940s, the band performs a wide range of music—from classical and jazz to contemporary and traditional marches—at local events and its own concert series. Its mission is to foster a love of music and provide accessible performances for the community. Learn more at www.hamiltonconcertband.com.
